For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 2001 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 that is far from stock. 2001 was the second to the in 2013 of the Trans Am and was geared up with a 310 horsepower LS1 aluminum V8. The WS6 bundle included Ram Air and an added 15 horse power and had a top speed of 160 miles per hour. This WS6 currently has 65k miles and was stock up till it had actually reached 54k miles. Right here's exactly what was done to the car. 18" Year One billet Snowflake wheels, front Wilwood 6 piston calipers, Moser 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 ring and pinion, upgraded driveshaft, BMR torque arm with adjustable cross member, BMR suspension and sub frame connectors, aluminum high ability Nascar style fuel tank with twin 340 lph Aeromotive E85 compatible fuel pumps, an E85 fuel composition and temperature sensor mounted in the return line, Aeromotive boost referenced fuel pressure regulatory authority and billet fuel rails with 60 lbs injectors. The engine itself is a new LQ9 6.6 liter block with an AEM methanol kit and a Lunati 4340 rotating assembly with created 9.5:1 pistons put together by AMT Engines out of St. Louis, MO. The engine is also equipped with a Competition Cams custom made grind blower camshaft and a D1SC Procharger currently set at a conservative 10psi of boost. Exhaust for this beast consist of 13/4" American Racing headers with electric cutouts leaving through a pair of 3" MagnaFlow mufflers. Backing up all of this power is a 4L80E automatic transmission with a TCI controller and a 3,000 rpm delay efficient in 1,000 horse power. Watching on all of the crucial engine details is a set of Autometer and AEM gauges installed to the A pillar and the fuel temp. gauge lies in the glove box. On a really conservative tune running 93 octane, the vehicle makes 525 horsepower to the rear wheels. With a more aggressive tune with 15 psi of boost, E85 and a front installed intercooler, the automobile will make 700 to the rear wheels! This is a stunning automobile with a gold and black paint scheme and oh those wheels. Usual alternatives from the manufacturing facility are still with the automobile including A/C, AM/FM radio with a CD player, power windows, power locks, power leather seats, cruise control, ABS brakes, tilt steering wheel and obviously T-tops. We have seen a lot of well developed automobiles come through our display rooms for many years. Usually vehicles that have been customized to this extent can be a hand full to operate. Undoubtedly not the case with this Trans Am. The construct quality is phenomenal and genuinely a breeze to drive.
