Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very cherry little 1986 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. 1986 offered the first Corvette convertible since 1975. A Corvette Convertible paced the '86 Indianapolis 500 so Chevy designated all '86 Convertibles as Pace Car replicas. The car that paced the race was yellow in color, but all colors and options were designated as replicas. A few major safety improvements for the '86 model included high mount rear stoplight and anti-lock brakes. They made just over 35, Corvettes, but only 7,315 were rag tops. Under the hood you'll find a 350 CID TPI V8 engine with aluminum cylinder heads which is rated at 235 HP. The 350 is backed by a 4 speed automatic transmission. Power is distributed to the rear wheels with independent rear suspension. It sits on a sharp set of alloys with new radial tires. This particular example is finished in black exterior with dark gray interior that looks great. The paint finish is nice and glossy and the rag top is in great shape. Inside the black leather is nice and comfortable. The Vette is well optioned with A/C, AM/FM/Cassette, cruise control, power steering, pwer locks, power windows, anti-lock brakes, tilt column, seat belts, leather interior, alloy wheels, and radial tires. This is a very nice low mileage example of an '86 Pace Car with just 28,136 miles! The car is ready for sunny day drives and should be a real collector's item.
