For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1966 Ford Cobra. This Cobra is based off of the Street Beast Cobra 427, but features many upgrades that you will not find on most other Cobras. For starters, powering this Cobra is a fuel injected 351 Windsor that has been bored and stroked to a 427 and produces 450 horsepower! The bottom end of the engine has a 4340 steel crank, 4340 steel H-Beam connecting rods and forged pistons. The rest of the engine comes with aluminum cylinder heads, serpentine belt with aluminum pulley set, electric cooling fan and a BBK fuel injection. The transmission is a Tremec 5-speed manual connected to a Ford 8.8 rear end that is housing 3.75:1 gears. The suspension consist of adjustable QA1 coil overs with a live axle in the rear and a rack and pinion power steering assembly up front with tubular upper and lower control arms. Power four wheel disc brakes will certainly slow you down in a hurry. This beautiful Cobra is riding on a set of 17" Halibrand styled aluminum wheels wearing 275/40r17s on the rear and 245/45r17s on the front. The car looks great painted in a Red Candy Metallic base coat/clear coat accented with white racing stripes and black side exhaust. Speaking of the exhaust, this thing makes a sound that will have other sports cars and muscle cars running for the hills! Very aggressive when you want it to be and mild when just cruising. The interior has been tastefully done with a body colored dash, Autometer gauges, black carpet with black vinyl bucket seats, the traditional rear view mirror mounted on the dash and of course the driver's roll bar. If you're ready for fast, comfortable and surely memorable ride, look no further. Call Gateway Classic Cars at
